Yarn along little vikings

I'm once again linking up with Ginny at Small things for her Yarn Along.

After finishing a Viking hat (www.mamachee.etsy.com) for a little Danish/American boy, for his 1st Thanksgiving, I started making two others for my boys.  The pattern is so easy to follow and I'm loving the way they are turning out.  The most difficult part is sewing the horns on at the end!

On the book front I'm at a bit of a loss.  I missed my last bookclub meeting and have resorted to reading something my father gave me ages ago.  My fathers reading matter generally revolves around serial killers, shipping disasters and professional cycling!!  So it's with little enthusiasm that I started The Castle in The Forest (Norman Mailer) which the front cover itself claims is "an electrifying inquiry into the nature of evil"!  It's interesting enought but not really what I want to be reading and I know in advance that there are going to be 'nasty' bits.  I doubt very much if i'll stick with it, so i'll be avidly reading all book reviews today for books that I can add to my christmas wish list.

  5. Those hats are hilarious. I made my kids viking hats a long time ago but I left out the horns. Are the hats presents?

  7. I've never read Norman Mailer - but have wondered about his work. The one you've got is about Hitler's childhood, isn't it?

    Cute hat!!
